Everything is Wonderful….
ByI really had no idea what I was going to say this morning. I had actually roughed something out last night, but I was totally unhappy with it.
And then a received a most wonderful comment from Joanna, and as I was typing my response, I thought… YES… there’s my blog. And this is the quote that she shared with me:
“The miracles of nature do not seem miracles because they are so common. If no one had ever seen a flower, even a dandelion would be the most startling event in the world. “
And my reply:
“Oh So True… but that’s the trick isn’t it.. to see the dandelion as though it were a miracle. And maybe I am just fortunate, but I have always seen it that way. It still blows my mind that a flower can grow out of what seems like nothing at all. When you can see the world with wonder, then everything is Wonderful!!”
And I guess that is really what is at the heart of my blog and my photographic journey. ”Seeing the Beauty in All Things”… has been my motto from day one, but maybe it should have read “Seeing the Miracle in All Things”.
We take SO much of life for granted. We walk past a million amazingly, intricately, subtly, gorgeous things a day, on the way to our cars, or in our very own driveways. And how often do we notice them. Life is an insanely precious gift! And it’s not until it is threatening to leave us, that we bother to realise this.
Don’t wait until it’s too late…. accept the gift NOW. And in everyone now, from now on.

Like a light bulb that went on…I never want to go back.:) Your photo is beautiful.

Don’t you just LOVE those lightbulb moments
Hey, I happen to like dandelions, they’re pretty (and make reasonably good wine). I agree with the sentiment, though, and , as expected, another gorgeous picture.
I like dandelions also… although I must admit… I have never drank them
What a beautiful photo, post and quote.
Your photos remind me to find the beauty in everyday life. Isn’t” it amazing we often times need children to remind us of the mystery and beauty of life, such as the intricacies of a single leaf? Oh to recapture that joy and wonder, awesome!
“Be as a little child”.. it’s a great way to live. I’m 46 years old and still haven’t even began to grow up, and no intention of doing it any time soon.
Good for you!!!
(I’m 44 y.o.)
44 years young, I suspect.
Love the sentiments of this post, Tracie-I couldn’t agree more
I thought you would
This. This is my favorite photograph. Richness in the midst of drought. Natural juxtapositions that give pause and reasons to reflect, from out of nowhere. Nature at its most natural. Thank you.
What an amazing comment… thank you so much
The light in this picture is amazing, Tracie L., and your words too of course…
Thanks so much xo
Absolutely right in every way.
Thanks Julie
Your work is stunning. I’m sure you’re very skilled at finding the beauty in everything.
Thanks Alex… it doesn’t really take skill… just observation.
The trees look so surreal. I love how the shadows cast on different textures: water, craked ground. Lovely image!
Thanks Jennifer.. it’s quite a landscape out there.
First let me say, Tracie, I love your photograph. Moving onto your text, I couldn’t agree with you more. The simplest things in life, the we all ‘don’t’ see are so complex and miraculous, yet days go by and nobody notices. Still the world continues to go on about its business. It is up to us to stop and see the many wonders around us. The downside of being human, is that we, as people, get too caught up in society, I think. We forget our roots, and we let worries over the past and the future rob us of our ‘now’. Great post, young lady.
And what a great comment… there is a whole blog just in what you say. Thank so much xxoo
You are such an incredible artist. Your photographs give glory to the Lord. Keep it up!
As you say God is the artist… I’m just there with a camera
You have had so, so many great posts but I think this one says so much about what is wrong with todays society. Most of us fail to ever see the miracle of all that is around us. I try to capture as much glorious nature on film and share it with as many who might not get the opportunity to see some of the things I’m blessed to, but even I from time to time will forget to see the miracles of EVERYTHING that is around us. We are so blessed to have you and your blog to remind us to stop and think about all that God has blessed us with. The miracle of life … think of that tiny little seed of Corn that grows into a huge plant that feeds half the world … is a miracle! Sorry if I babbled a little but this post really is special. Thanks so much for sharing! Tom
Never apologise for speaking from you heart Tom. And I totally agree with you. I was lucky to have always had a sense of wonder and awe.. but ever since I picked up a camera, I am ALWAYS looking for the beauty around me. I see SO much more than I ever get time to actually capture, but photography has been such a blessing that way. It helps keep me focussed (pardon the pun), on what’s really important.
Seems to be a good day here for me looking for Nature’s miracles! Another fab post Tracie! Ann
Every day is a good day for seeing the miraculous… thanks Ann.
Beautiful work my dear continue to spread the beautiful art in the world
.
That is my intention
Thanks so much.
That’s a really good message! It actually reminded me of that old Everclear song “Wonderful”, which has a totally different message, but repeatedly uses the line “Everything is wonderful.”
Everything IS wonderful my friend… everything really IS.
I just tried to comment on your latest post but it seems to be unavailable?
It will be back in the morning… I was trying to get a jump start on my day and write it before bed tonight, and I went to hit the preview button, but hit publish instead. Sorry.. will repost again in the morning. I have been trying to post roughly the same time each day.
You have a special gift to capture the beauty!
What a lovely thing to say… thank you Gaby
Now that’s what I’m talking about. Can I just have a seat under that tree, and dare to dream? These are the photographs dreams are made of…..
Well you know me Dave… I do likes to dream
Tracie, totally agree with you .. that we take everything for granted – everything around us and we never take time to stop and look at the small medicals neither. Honesty I think that people that use their camera for more than taking holiday and party photos – see the details better. All the miracles that the nature gives to us for free every day.
It is so true… hold a camera in your hand and look for something wonderful to capture…. and the whole world opens up to you. Thanks so much xxoo
The pleasure is mine.
Beautiful Photograph, I love the colors, so vibrant. Great message with it too. It is so true = )
Very glad you liked it
wow Tracie… I feel so humble and grateful that I could have added something to your today’s post .
and actually there’s nothing more to say than I love your photo coming along with your – and my- words xoxo
I think you might find that you inspire me a great deal more than you might realise
thank you so much… and I find you a such a big inspiration! So I guess we add something here for each other…how great is that?
It’s about as good as it gets ♥
❤❤❤
It’s important to slow down and take notice, or we’ll miss out on so many beautiful things. Great post!
Very true… thanks xxoo
I like the photograph.
Thank you.
That one will probably be my favorite on my camping trip today.
So glad you think so
