Lunar Eclipse
| 12 imagesThe full lunar eclipse of Saturday 10th December. Last one we will see for 3 years. All of these shots were taken within an hour of each other, and from the exact same location. Hard to believe that you can have so many varied views of the same moon taken around the same time. But that’s the beauty and fun of a lunar eclipse. With a little cloud cover thrown in for good measure and even one or two stars in a couple of images.

Fantastic photo’s
Thank you …. glad you like them.
I got up early to go take pictues, too. I was surprised at the number of people already at my chosen spot when I got there. Next time, I’m going two hours earlier and will take a book to read while I’m waiting.
Great captures! Did you shoot the super moon?
I did… it was amazing from our place. http://www.redbubble.com/people/tracielouise/works/8820828-peeking-through
Fantastic! Milo has been in the desert in Jordan at the Feynan Ecolodge, located in the Dana Biosphere Reserve. He’s gotten some incredible night shots, including slow shutter speed shots that show the movement of the stars in the night sky. He said the moon had been too bright to photograph that night!
I could only get it as it first came over the horizon, and after that it was too bright. I tried to do a HDR shot as an experiment, but it was a spectacular failure.
I don’t know if he tried HDR for that, but I know he frequently uses it. The lodge has an amazing telescope and they purchased some sort of device that will allow him to connect the scope with the camera lens somehow. Stay tunned!
terrific photographs!
Thank you!!

Spectacular photos !!
Very much appreciated…. thank you.
Great! What lens did you use? I have a Nikon D3000 and want to try moon shots but don’t know what lens/setting to use. Tried once and it was super bad,,,,
I have a Nikon D90… at the time I shot these I only had a Nikor 18-200mm lens. I know have a Sigma 150-500, which would have made this easier.. but you can get away with a 200mm lens.
OMG Amazing shots *_* Just love it
You are very kind.. thank you!
